Alison Maria Krauss - born July 23rd 1971 - is an American bluegrass and country singer. She began to work in the world of music from a young age. at the age of 10 she was a winner in local competitions and made her first album. The year 1987 was when she released her solo debut album after being signed to Rounder Records. She was asked to join the band which she still performs Alison Krauss and Union Station as well as releasing her debut album with them as a group in 1989.
