Mena Alexandra Suvari (born 13th February 1979) is an American model, actress and fashion designer. model. After a brief stint modeling fashions before moving into acting when she appeared as a guest star on TV shows like Boy Meets World in the 1990s, and High Incident. Her film debut was in 1997's dramatic Nowhere. Her performances on the film American Beauty, for which she won the BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie made her the focus of a wider attention. In 2000, she was in American Pie alongside American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2002, she took on the main role as the lead character in Sugar & Spice (2002). There were appearances on her in the 2002 independent drama Spun and in the 2004 thriller film Trauma. In 2004, she was a guest in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award 2005 for her role in the Outstanding Ensemble. Suvari was also featured in Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburg, and the movie version of The Garden of Eden. Suvari was featured in numerous magazine and blog posts like Vogue. She's the official Lancome model, and is featured on print advertisements for Lancome Paris Adaptive. Suvari is an activist and an avid supporter of the African Medical and Research Foundation. She also is involved in issues of female empowerment and has been involved in charities which are dedicated to fighting breast cancer, and the End Violence Against Women campaign. Most well-known is her role in TV series including Dark Angel Heroes the Chris Isaak Show Black Sash Reaper or Rookie Blue. Missy has also modeled for high-profile brands such as Mercedes-Benz Sprint Canada or the Olympics. Her films include Stick It Backcountry Someone Red, Wide Awake and the Stick it Backcountry.
