Rodarius Marcell Green[2] was born on 27 August 1998. He is popularly known as Rod Wave and a singer. He is renowned for his powerful voice and the blending of R&B and hip hopand has been hailed as a pioneer in soul-trap.Wave gained notoriety thanks to the single "Heart on Ice" which became a viral hit through YouTube as well as TikTok and hit 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wave's debut album Ghetto Gospel (2019) peaked at number 10 in the US Billboard 200. The second album, Pray 4 Love (2020) peaked at the top of the Billboard 200 at number 2,[99. It included the track "Rags2Riches", which reached 12th on the Hot 100. The third album, SoulFly (2021), was his debut album , peaking at number 1. It was his first chart-topping album. The Wave's career began in the year 2016 with the launch of his mixtape Hunger Games Vol.1. Before signing with Alamo Records, he released various mixtapes of his own. He released his mixtape PTSD on June 14 in 2019, featuring the track "Heart on Ice". The song went viral on YouTube, TikTok and reached number 25 in the Billboard Hot 100. Wave's debut album Ghetto Gospel (November 1, 2019,) was released. It ranked 10 on the US Billboard 200. Rod Wave's sophomore album Pray 4 Love was released April 3 in 2020. It debuted at number 2 in the Billboard 200. A deluxe version was released on the 7th of August. [9] The album debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, with a deluxe edition following on August 7. Wave was selected for XXL's 2020 Freshman Class on the 11th of August, 2020. Wave spoke to XXL's 2020 freshman Class in July 2020 that he was in the process of working on his third album. The album was originally scheduled to be released on August 27, 2020. [2] On March 6 2021, he announced the album's tracklist for SoulFly. The album includes songs "Street Runner" and "Tombstone" the highest-charting song which peaked at number 11 on the Hot 100. "18.19.19." The track by the band "Nirvana", released in the last quarter of 2021, was controversial. Many thought the song was a suicide note, but Wave strongly denied this.
